Project Solar Activity and Earth's Climate
We study how the solar activity can influence the climate indicator North Atlantic Oscillation.
Project Satellite Anomalies
(ESA/ESTEC projects)
We study how satellite anomalies can be predicted from the space weather state, using
neural networks.
Project Radio Communication Conditions
We study how the radio communication conditions (indicated by e.g. the foF2) can be
predicted from the space weather state, using neural networks.
Project Global and Local Magnetic Field Variations
We study how the solar wind energy is transferred to and dissipated within earth's
magnetosphere/ionosphere. The global magnetic field variations have been predicted
by using geomagnetic activity indices. Real-time predictions are available of Kp, Dst and AE
on this web site. Local magnetic geomagnetic field variations are now also studied.
Project GIC
Geomagnetically induced currents and their effect on electric power systems
and gas pipeline systems are also studied and predicted by using neural networks.
An ESA GIC Pilot project has started.
ESA Space Weather Program
We have contributed with the service definition and prototyping for the ESA Space Weather Program
