This initiative of the ESA Space Systems Environment Analysis Section is intended to establish a prototype of a potential mailing list or forum with news of interest for the Space Weather community in Europe.
You can question whether such a community exists. This is what we want to find out through establishing such a communication tool via internet.
Your name is currently on our mailing list because we are aware that your activity and your work is potentially of interest for such a community. The principle of this prototype list will be as follows. The newsletter will contain information about events, such as conferences and workshops, news about ongoing research and new results, tender opportunities, offers and/request of services, job opportunities, research and trainee opportunities, etc. The list will be moderated. People on the list are invited to send any news relevant to space weather issues via email to the editor and whenever there is enough information (3 to 6 items) a newsletter would be issued and sent to all of the recipients on the mailing list.
You will not receive the forthcoming news if you do not register by sending an e-mail to the editor with the text register + the e-mail address you want to be used. If you want to be withdrawn from the list we would be grateful if you would also inform us by sending an e-mail to: firstname.lastname@example.org. Since this is a prototype it would be useful for us if you could give us your comments regarding such a service.
I am looking forward to receiving your inputs.
The SWEN editor Alain Hilgers
